This is by far my favorite picture I've ever taken.
as in EVER in my entire life.
My brother in law wanted a good picture of them temple to blow up and give to his wife so I set out a few weeks before her birthday to go take some pictures of the temple.
I've taken pictures of the temple before, but I had never went on a photoshoot just to take pictures of the temple before. it was such a spiritual and humbling experience. There wasn't anyone on the grounds that night- the weather was perfect and if you can't tell the lighting and the coloring of the sky were too.
I was in complete awe.
I can't even express in words how strongly I felt the spirit that night. It was amazing.
the best thing about this picture is that its barely photoshopped. I brightened it a little and fixed the contrast a little but basically as you are seeing it here, thats how I saw it through my camera.
I orginally was going to post this picture to tell you guys about
the goal that Andy and I set the first year we were married.
We set the goal as a new years resolution January 2009
to visit ALL the temples in utah.
including the ones clear out in the middle of nowhere land-
like the Vernal and Monticello.
We had so much fun visiting all the temples and the adventures that came with them.
When we went to the Vernal temple we stopped at a taco bell (gag, I know.) anyway
the only worker in there was a one armed pregnant lady that took seriously an hour making our food.
THEN get this, it had BUGS in it and it was rotten.
I. thought. I. was. going. to. die.
but its something to laugh about now and a good story!
Then when we went to the Monticello temple we made a weekend out of it and stayed in Moab and visited
there, Arches and Cayonlands nation park
where we ate a Mexican restaurant and spent the rest of the night drinking a whole bottle of pepto each.
It was so much fun seeing all parts of Utah I'd never seen before and visiting all the little towns
and meeting some of the nicest people we have ever met.
We made it to all of them excpet the one closest to our house.
the Jordan River Temple.
I just go waaay to pregnant and couldn't sit through a whole session
and I couldn't kneel long enough to do sealings.
and then excuses just kept coming up and soon we had a baby.
I really regret not going when we lived up there,
we always say we didn't have time, but I think we both know there is
always time to go to the temple.
we'll get there though.
Along with all the temples in Utah we have visited a lot of temples out of state too.
Andy and I love to go to all the temples we can, but hands down
the Manti was our favorite.
We lived in Richfield for a while and went
to the Manti temple almost every weekend.
We defiantly saw a ton of blessings from it and it made our marriage so strong.
We hope we can get a babysitter soon so we can go to the vegas temple and mark that one off our list!
